Senior Technical Project Manager

I ship complex software on a cadence people can plan around.

13 years in software, 9 of them leading engineering teams. Today I run 3 concurrent projects inside a 60+ person AWS platform engineering group at Deluxe Entertainment.

About

I started as a developer, so estimates and technical risk get worked out with the tech leads, not relayed past them.

I spent my first years writing C# and Python tooling for production teams on Microsoft's account at RWS Moravia. That work grew into a permanent function, I proposed the team that would own it, and I was promoted to lead it. Three promotions later I was running the account's Engineering group: 12 people across Argentina and the Czech Republic, a USD 200K annual budget, and the Engineering section of quarterly business reviews presented to Microsoft.

Since 2021 I have been the single point of accountability for scope, schedule and dependencies on a large-scale AWS platform at Deluxe Entertainment, across 5+ groups per project spanning engineering, product, QA, UAT, support and business stakeholders. When I arrived, several teams had no established process. I helped build the ceremonies and the delivery cadence from the ground up and now run them across three of them.

What I am good at is unglamorous: forecasting the blocking point before it reaches the critical path, and telling a VP the uncomfortable version early rather than the comfortable version late.

Estimated loss prevented during a platform migration

A migration was on course to destroy years of accumulated translation memory data. I designed and built the tooling that extracted and restored it. The recovery contributed to securing the account's contract renewal.

Defined with engineering management, then driven to adoption by me across three teams: expanded pull request review coverage, SonarQube and later AI-assisted review, plus developer-to-QA testing handover notes. Escaped defects dropped by around 20%.
